The North Orbit Ultra Kite is built for big air kitesurfers who want to push their limits to the absolute max. Where the standard Orbit already delivers a brilliant mix of performance and accessibility, the Ultra takes it a step further for riders chasing maximum explosiveness and speed. The prototypes were already on the podium in 2025: Nathalie Lambrecht won the King of the Air on it, and Cohan van Dijk took podium finishes at both the King of the Air and the Red Bull Megaloop. North built this Ultra around a completely new airframe and bridle system.

The beating heart of the Orbit Ultra is the brand new N-U80 airframe, developed by North Technology Group. N-U80 is not an evolution of dacron but a completely different material class: woven from 100% Ultra PE, a fibre that is eight times stronger than polyester at the same weight. The result is a frame that is lighter and stiffer than the N-Max2 material of the standard Orbit, with a thinner leading edge diameter and minimal drag. The kite accelerates faster, holds its shape better in gusts and responds lightning fast to your steering input.

North gave the Orbit Ultra a higher aspect ratio for even snappier response and dynamic recovery. The high-lift profile delivers impressive upwind performance and explosive boosts toward your next height record. You will also notice a slightly lighter bar pressure, making steering more comfortable and keeping you fresh longer in powered conditions.

Where the standard Orbit uses a 5-point bridle, North chose a 6-point bridle design for the Ultra. This extra attachment point and the ultra-thin high velocity bridles give you even more control in strong wind and during kiteloops. In the loop the Ultra responds directly to your steering input and does exactly what you want: send it low and it goes low, or go for a clean, safe loop and the kite slows you down on the way back down for a soft landing. The 5-strut design keeps the kite super stable even on the biggest jumps.

For the canopy, the Orbit Ultra uses the proven N-RS3 High Tenacity Triple Ripstop, with contoured PTP2 transition panels for clean airflow from the leading edge to the canopy.
