WHAT ABOUT BLUE LIGHT?

Also called HEV (High-Energy Visible) light, blue light is the highest frequency light in the visible spectrum. It is known to be 15 times more harmful to the retina than other colours in the spectrum. HEV light causes photochemical lesions in retinal cells. This deterioration of retinal cells causes cataracts and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD or ARMD), which lead to significant vision loss.

Because children generally receive 3 times the annual sun exposure of adults, some experts say that half of a person lifetime of exposure to UV is attained by early adult hood.
